Our Sustainability Criteria
-
Transparency
Sustainability starts with honesty, we only party with brands that openly share how, where, and by whole their products are made. Clear documentation around souring, labor, and materials allows us to stand behind what we carry and give our customers real insight into each piece.
-
Textiles & Materials
We look for natural, organic, and biodegradable fabrics that last. Materials like linen, hemp, and Tencel(tm) feel good to wear and are gentler on the planet. We also support recycled and upcycled textiles that reduce waste and extend the life of existing resources.
-
Water Waste & Pollution
Textile production uses enormous amounts of water and often releases toxic dyes into the environment. We choose brands using organic fibers, low-impact dyeing, and water recycling systems that limit pollution and protect clean water access for communities and ecosystems.
-
Carbon Footprint
Fashion has a major climate impact, from fossil-fuel fabrics to global transport, we prioritize local and mid-west based vendors when possible and seek out brands that use renewable energy, carbon conscious shipping, and lower-impact materials in their production.
-
Labor Rights & Fair Wages
Every item we carry is made by real people whose work deserves respect and fair pay. We partner with brands that ensure safe working conditions, fair wages, and supply chain transparency. Supporting workers is essential to building a truly sustainable industry.
-
Animal Welfare
We look for brands that treat animals with care and avoid harmful, or exploitative practices that includes certified cruelty-free beauty, responsibly sourced wool and alpaca, and plant-based or recycled alternatives to traditional leather and fur.
-
Certifications We Trust
Verified certifications help us identify brands that meet strong sustainability standards. We value third-party labels such as gots, fair trade, OEKO-TEX, and GRS because they provide accountability in areas like labor practices, chemical safety, and material sourcing.
-
Packaging, Transport & Waste Reduction
We pay attention to the details that often get overlooked. That means selecting vendors who use recyclable or compostable packaging, limit single-use plastics, and ship products efficiently to reduce carbon emissions and overall waste.
-
End-of-Life Responsibility
We look for brands designing with longevity and circularity in mind. That can mean offering repair or take-back programs, using durable materials, or encouraging creative reuse. The goal is to keep garments in use and out of landfills.
Sustainability is a work in progress.
No brand gets it perfectly right, and that's okay. What matters is a real commitment to progress and accountability.
