Born in New York City, by Puerto Rican designer Monica Santos Gil, the namesake brand is revamping the way handbags are made. Focused on classic and sleek silhouettes, each bag is made from cactus or banana-based leather, all with a 100% cotton lining on the inside. While every piece is handmade in the United States, the cactus used grows in Zacatecas, Mexico, where it is only harvested when leaves are mature, to allow for regeneration to occur naturally. Santos is committed to evolving as they view sustainability as a verb that might look different tomorrow than it does today.
